Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has rolled out a Thunderbolt Firmware update for mid-2012 MacBook Pros to solve problems related to Thunderbolt storage and cable compatibility. Those issues, however, are still reportedly not removed from Apple’s iMacs.

After several complaints on Apple’s Support Communities that draw attention to concerns about unreliable Thunderbolt performance with a number of Apple’s Mac series, including complaints from some vendors, the ‘Thunderbolt Firmware Update v.1.1′ tackles an issue with MacBook Pro (mid 2012) and some Thunderbolt cables that manufacture prevent bus-powered Thunderbolt devices from functioning properly, Apple said.

Before the update was provided, some users recommended wrapping Thunderbolt cables in tin foil to stop electromagnetic interference; others suggested that it was an internet connectivity problem. Despite a solution to the problem has been provided, ZDNet report claim that iMac owners are still experiencing issues.
