AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) makes a donation of $20,000 to American Heart Association

AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) yesterday made a donation of $20,000 to the American Heart Association’s Charlotte chapter, making it the biggest donation thus far to the organization’s 2013 settlement.

“My Heart My Life” is a campaign that is aimed at educating people regarding physically activeness and also gives advice for better food choices to cure the heart diseases.

Back in April 2009, State Rep. Becky Carney (D-Mecklenburg) suffered from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) while at her desk in the Legislative Building in Raleigh. At that time legislator, a doctor, used an on-site Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to restart her heart beat prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) has been playing an active role as supporter of the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk with large number of employees donating as much as about $20,000 year-to-date for the Charlotte Heart Walk alone.

At the close of the trading day, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) shares rose +0.03% to settle at $34.14. Intraday trading was between $34.03 – $34.40. In the past year, the stock has traded within a range of $28.51 – $38.58. The last session’s volume of 19.62 million shares was down from the average daily trading volume of 26.65 million shares.

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) shares were down -0.17% to close at $5.72. The stock traded between $5.69 – $5.75 during the last trading session. In the last 12 months the shares have traded between $2.10 and $6.04. The last session’s volume of 23.61 million shares was a bit lower than their average daily trading volume of 42.93 million shares.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) shares in the last session were down -0.05% closing at $44.10. The stock traded in a range of $44.03 – $44.50. In the last year the stock has moved within a range of $36.80 – $48.77. The last session’s volume of 11.46 million shares was down from their average daily trading volume of 13.23 million shares.

Another rival company Telephone & Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), traded down -1.04% moving to $22.77. Intraday trading recorded the stock price in a range between $22.59 – $23.20. In the previous 52 weeks the price has traded between $19.20 – $29.32. The last session’s volume of 610,200 shares was down from their average daily trading volume of 668,149 shares.
