Consumer Goods Review: Archer Daniels Midland’s (NYSE:ADM) Turned Down Again by GrainCorp, General Motors Co. (NYSE:GM) Gearing Up Efforts for Pick Up Business

Archer Daniels Midland’s (NYSE:ADM) $2.9 billion offer to buyout Australian agriculture behemoth GrainCorp has been refused again, as per reported by Reuters.

This was the second bid and this time Decatur-located ADM even lifted the offering price for GrainCorp. Last month, it proposed $2.7 billion, but was refused by the company.

Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE:ADM) edged down -0.26% to close at $27.15 and its overall volume during last trading session was 4.84 million shares. ADM has earnings per share of $1.43. Its total market capitalization is $17.88 billion.
ADM is ahead of its 52 week low with 11.36% and its last month’s price volatility remained -18.57%. In its share capital ADM has 658.57 billion outstanding shares while 643.69 billion shares have been floated in market.

General Motors Co. (NYSE:GM) is ready to make a huge bet on gaining its lost space for its pickup truck unit.

On Thursday, the Detroit auto manufacturer revealed reshaped versions of its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, a tandem that manufactures the vehicle maker’s best-selling and most lucrative model line

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) dropped -1.99% and closed at $25.12 with the total traded volume of 7.74 million shares. It has market capitalization of $39.34 billion while its total outstanding shares are 1.57 billion.
In the other auto news, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE:HMC) has recollected more than 870,000 minivans and SUVs worldwide because of to an issue making them to roll away though drivers have previously pulled out the keys from the ignition.

Honda Motor Co Ltd (ADR)(NYSE:HMC) grew +0.21% and closed at $33.64with the total traded volume of 282,114shares. HMC has earnings per share of $2.22 with the net profit margin of 2.74% and operating margin of 4.78%.

HMC has current ratio of 1.29 and its debt-to-equity ratio was 0.92.

PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE:PEP)

The company’s shares touched a high of $70.46 before closing at $70.21, a decrease of -$0.04. The trading volume was 4.33 million shares. Since hitting a 52-week low of $16.20 on December 13, 2012, the stock has managed to stay 16.20% higher from that level. The latest gain caused shares to increase their 2012 loss to 9.16%.

Toyota Motor Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:TM)

Shares of Toyota Motor Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:TM) traded in a range of $85.00 to $86.00, completing the day down-$0.90, or -1.04% to $85.88. The total volume of shares exchanged was 359,565. The stock was at 29.87% as on Dec13, 2012 for this year as compared to 29.16% in the last 12 months. The company established a 52-week high of $87.15 on Mar 30, 2012 and is now 35.74% up than that level.
