Industrial Sector Summary: Fiat and CNH Global NV (NYSE:CNH) Moves in Merger Deal, Deere & Company (NYSE:DE) Puts in Money to Boost Operations

On Monday, Fiat Industrial hit a complete deal to obtain the 12% of US farm and construction equipment manufacturer CNH Global NV (CNH) that it did not previously possessed and merged their businesses.

Both the companies reported that the merger would be located in the Netherlands and have a stock listing in New York with a likely secondary listing in Milan. At present, Fiat Industrial is exchanged in Milan and CNH in New York.

In last trading session, CNH Global NV (ADR) (NYSE:CNH) dropped -2.35% to close at $47.71 and its total volume during last trading session was 875,845.00 shares. Its opening price was $47.75 and its shares hit the day high price of $48.25 and day low of $47.33.

Deere & Company (DE) reported on Monday that it will invest almost $58 million to boost up operations at John Deere Seeding in Moline where the firm manufactures planting equipment.

The investment would be made in combination with the deployment of a new factory master plan that aims at boosting effectiveness and quality. Enhancements comprised of a new paint system and improved use of automation and robotics.

Deere & Company (NYSE:DE) surged 0.58% and closed at $84.46 with the total traded volume of 3.61 million shares. Stock’s 52 weeks high price was $89.70 and 52 weeks low price was $69.51.

DE has outstanding shares of 391.67 million with the total market capitalization of $33.08 billion.

Diversified industrial manufacturer, Eaton Corporation (ETN) on Monday declared that its formerly declared pending takeover of Cooper Industries plc has got approval from China’s Ministry of Commerce and the European Commission.

Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) moved down -0.79% with the closing price of $51.17. The overall volume in the last trading session was 5.70 million shares. Its fifty two week range was $36.38-$53.06.

ETN is ahead of its 52 week low with 43.04% and its last month’s price volatility remained 2.77%. Its beta coefficient was 1.53 with a target price of $54.47. In its share capital ETN has 337.90million outstanding shares while 336.22million shares have been floated in market.

The price of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) moved up 0.10% and finished the day at $21.06 on above average volume. The day started out with a lower opening price of $20.88 versus prior close of $21.01. The total number of shares traded on the latest trading day was about 47.75 million shares, and changed hands at average prices of $20.87to $21.07 apiece. The shares advanced about 20.55% since the start of 2012 and has a 2.83% gain in last three months. Narrowing down the performance period, the stock fell -1.03% for the month and a 4.52% gain over the week.

With the latest fall of -0.24%, Masco Corporation (NYSE:MAS) now has YTD performance +64.65% which for the week is positive at 13.00%. Masco pays a dividend yield of 1.78%. The company will report lower sales for the Quarter ending Dec-12, according to 15 analysts polled by Reuters. On average, they believe sales will arrive at $1,801.04 from $1,879.84 posted in the same quarter last year. The average sales forecast of 16 analysts for the full-year is $7,783.36, down as compared to $7,970.66 annual sales a year ago.
